Mearns Masters Campaigners park trip

Well we picked the right day for our park trip☀️

We all got here safely following the maps we made.

A few plasters required for our cuddly friends but only minor injuries! We have all had a ball.

Science

We are also learning about the Moon. We have learned about night, the phases of the Moon and we made the Moon 🌑 with puffy paint We loved getting messy!

2022 so far in P1.3

We have been enjoying learning in 2022. The children wanted to learn about the Solar System and Planet Earth. We have been drawing Earth orbiting the sun and making rockets on peg boards with elastic bands. We have also been learning about maps and globes to look at our planet, this fits in with our new Mearns Master project Campaigners where we will be planning and making a safe route and trip for our cuddly toys.

Mearns Masters

We were Designers this Mearns Masters block. We were designing methane gas catchers for cows.😀 This is to help our environment and our planet from warming too much.

We had to investigate what gas was and the materials that would be suitable to catch the gas. We discovered that glass and metal were the best to catch gas. We used steam to help us see this.

Christmas Jumper Day

Lots of reading now!

We are reading to match to a picture.

Number block fun

We are investigating number bonds this morning. The children are working out different ways to make teen numbers using cubes then recording by drawing onto squared paper.

Nativity rehearsal

Shepherds in waiting! Thank you for all the amazing costumes 😊

St Andrews Day

We made Scottish flags and had great fun trying out our Scottish dances we learned in PE🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Park trip

We discovered lots of push and pull forces at work and had lots of fun too!
