You have been working so hard in Primary 2. I am pleased that you enjoyed learning new skills when you were working with the football coaches. Well done for all your hard work rehearsing for your Nativity. The show was a great success and you all looked fantastic in your costumes! Keep working hard in 2018!
Primary 2.2 have been very lucky to experience a 6 week block of expert football coaching from East Renfrewshire coaches Tommy and Ali.
The children took part in lots of fun activties which helped them to develop ball control, passing, scoring and defending skills.
No strict rules were enforced, it was all about giving it a go! There was also an emphasis on good sportsmanship skills and at the end of each game the children were encouraged to shake hands and thank each other for the game.
Even Mrs Stewart had a great time learning new coaching techniques from the professionsals!
Two of the sessions were outdoors and even in the freezing cold conditions the children gave it their all. Well done 2.2!
A big thank you to Tommy and Ali for all their fantastic input !
Primary 2, I am impressed with how you are Bouncing Back when things are difficult or do not go your way. Keep practising the strategies and talking to each other and remebering to Bounce Back will get easier and easier!
Bounce Back! is an award winning positive education approach to wellbeing, resilience and social-emotional learning for primary school children.
Primary 2.2 have been learning about wellbeing and resilience strategies that they can use at times of upset to encourage positive thinking and mindfulness.
Bad feelings always go away again.
Other people can help you feel better if you talk to them.
Unhelpful thinking makes you feel more upset. Think again.
Nobody is perfect. Mistakes help you learn.
Concentrate on the good things and have a laugh.
Everybody feels sad and worried sometimes, not just you.
Book Week Scotland is taking place from Monday 27 November – Sunday 3 December 2017.
It is a week-long celebration of books and reading that takes place every November. As part of EPS celebrations the children in P 2.2 will take part in a Drop Everything And Read initiative.
Our first D.E.A.R opportunity today was a resounding success. Well done!
P2.2 looking wonderful in red!
To mark the event ‘Show Racism the Red Card’ we read the story of Elmer, a little elephant who is very unique.
We discussed how wonderful it is that P2.2 is made up of 30 unique indiviudals who have their own special looks and personalities.

This week we have been working on a mini IDL project all about autumn. We kick started this with a walk in the school grounds where we foraged for autumn objects. This inspired us to write autumn poems and create autumn art work. Our Autumn poems contained some fabulous describing words!
“Autumn is red leaves.
Autumn is spiky conkers.
Autumn is hibernating hedgehogs.
Autum is spooky Halloween.
Autumn is colourful fireworks.”
Caleb Lindie
“I love Autumn because I can collect conkers in the Orry.”
