2D shape tiling

One of our maths groups were learning about 2D shapes and shapes that can tile. We created our own tiling patterns.

Ellie – Tiling is when there a no overlaps and gaps.

Finlay – Tiling patterns can’t have gaps.

Olivia – Squares can tile.

Darcy – So can triangles

Joel – Rectangles and hexagons too.

Oceans of the world

As part of our learning context, Under the Sea, P4 were learning about the 5 oceans of the world.

Some pupils used Apple Clips on the Ipads to share our learning.

Annie – We were learning what different oceans there were and facts about them.

Miles – We learned how to get ocean facts and put them into a video and play them back.

Josie – it was really fun learning about the oceans and it was hard to find all the pictures but it was fun.

2D shapes

P4 were learning about the properties of 2D shapes. We used the Chatterpix app on the Ipads to share our learning.

Finlay – I learned 2D shapes are different from 3D shapes.

Darcy – I think it was good because you got to share what you were working on and it was fun.

Phoebe – I practised Ipad skills.

Mrs Mantle feeling proud!

P3.2 have worked extremely hard to write and illustrate their own fractured fairy tales.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading all the stories and I hope you can read them to family members who will enjoy hearing these impressive tales.

I am sure I will read some published books from children in our class in the future.        🙂

P3.2 are Engineers!

This was a tricky challenge but we worked together to problem solve. We didn’t give up when our bridges collapsed!

Mrs Mantle was very impressed with our structures and they all managed to hold two trains.

“It was hard to build. We had to destroy it 4 times but we finally made a bridge in the end!” Ana

Erin, ” It was frustrating because it kept falling down but we made the bridge in the end and it held two trains”

Olivia, “It was fun building the bridge and we always manage to fix it”
