Outdoor Learning and Autumn IDL

This week we have been working on a mini IDL project all about autumn.  We kick started this with a walk in the school grounds where we foraged for autumn objects.  This inspired us to write autumn poems and create autumn art work.  Our Autumn poems contained some fabulous describing words!

“Autumn is red leaves.

Autumn is spiky conkers.

Autumn is hibernating hedgehogs.

Autum is spooky Halloween.

Autumn is colourful fireworks.”

Caleb Lindie

“I love Autumn because I can collect conkers in the Orry.”

Yasmin Hadji

Primary 2.2 have been working on the theme of Robots for their IDL context.

The children have been learning about the properties of different materials and experimenting with a range of materials to create the robots which they have invented.  They have come up with some very creative robot ideas including robots who can clean their rooms and robots who can do hairstyles!

“My robot helps me to clip clasps into my hair.  Se can also put in colourful bobbles.”  Ellie Mann

“My robot can fix I-Phones quickly.” Jack Stevenson
