28/11/17 ‘I’ in the past

When a verb ends in   [….tee] (whatever the group of the verb),

‘I’ is the subject and it’s happening in the past.

Examples:

חשבתי [Hashavtee] I thought
ידעתי [yadatee] I knew
רקדתי [rakadtee] I danced
דיברתי [deebartee] I spoke
הסתכלתי [histakaltee] I watched

  •  זה\זאת [zeh/zot] means THIS.

To say THIS IS, you simply say THIS because we have no word for IS.

Example:

זה הספר   [Zeh hasefer]  = This (is) the book.

  •  ה [ha] means THE. It always comes attached to the next word.

Example:

הספר [hasefer] –) the book.

17/03 TO HAVE

There is no verb TO HAVE.

Instead we use the expression: ‘THERE IS’ [Yesh] to someone.

Example:
