The Primary 5 class are busy preparing for their Daffodil Tea next week by creating wonderful Daffodil Tealights made from clay. These little delights will be available for purchasing on the day and we think that they will sell out in a flash! We have been using the Art Studio to design and make our creations and it has been wonderful, since it is finally feeling a little more like Spring, the sunshine has been shining through the glass roof of the Hub!

Rabbi Rubin visits P5
We have been lucky enough to have Rabbi Rubin visit us again to help us check over our presentation for the Primary 3 class. He was very impressed with our work and was able to tell us some great stories about his time presenting Messibat Siddur. We even found this old photo of when we completed our Messibat Siddur 2 years ago! We’ll upload our photos soon. Watch this space!
Primary 3 class visit the Primary 5 class
The Primary 5 class have been working away behind the scenes with the Primary 3 class.
The boys and girls from Primary 3 visited us to discuss questions they have about Judaism and their upcoming Messibat Siddur. The p5 class loved answering all their questions and chatting to them about important traditions and customs we follow in Calderwood Lodge. We decided to create a presentation that would hopefully help put all our experience into a nice lesson to help get the Primary 3 class excited and prepared for their big day. We will be visiting them shortly to present this, once Rabbi Rubin comes in to have a run through with us.
We really enjoyed working with the Primary 3 class and loved all their clever questions.

When we went to Vikingar!
We ere so excited to be going to Vikingar as we loved learning all about the Vikings in social studies. We got to try on Viking clothes and then went watched a presentation about what Viking life was like. After the presentation we went to the hall of knowledge where they were facts, puzzles and computers. Thora the Viking then took us to the Viking long house were you could try on chain armour and helmets. You could also grind oats and look at the food, we also found out they ate salmon porridge for breakfast! At the end Thora will took us to Valhalla, the Viking haven where the great one eyed Odin will speak to us about the other Viking gods Frey, Freya, Njord and Thor. Tabitha was strong enough to carry Thor`s hammer! We then spent some time at the gift shop and had some fun playing Viking games in the garden.

Hagg Purim!
Primary 4 have come to school dressed up to celebrate Purim! It has been such a great day filled with many different activities. We have been in all the classrooms taking part in activities such as; mask making, dancing with Shosh, Purim puzzles and games and then Mishloach Manot bag decorating then filling it for someone in the class. It has been such great fun, try and work out who we are dressed up as!
Workshops at Williamwood
Primary 4 have made a start to their artwork for the new school’s feature wall. The weekly workshops take place at Williamwood High School where our primary 4 pupils work together with the primary 4 pupils from St Cadoc’s. Each week, the children focus on one section of the art work with the help of some very creative sixth year pupils. The children have enjoyed the experience so far as they are getting to spend time in a high school’s art studio and work with the St Cadoc’s pupils.
Primary 4 have been so enthusiastic about the workshops, they have been trying extremely hard with their creations and are so excited to see the final result at the end of the six weeks. See below for a sneak peak of what we have been working on.
