On the week beginning 28th November the entire school brought in toothbrushes, toothpastes, toys, soap and shampoo and clothes. There was a daily theme. On Monday people brought in toothbrush and toothpaste, Tuesday – stationary, Wednesday- toys, Thursday- soap and shampoo and Friday- hate, gloves and scarves.
On the Friday morning once we had finished collecting the Mitzvah day objects, Primary 7 packed them up in shoeboxes and gift bags. Most people had decorated the boxes at home using wrapping paper or paint. Refuweegee (a charity organisation) collected the donations on Monday morning. They spoke to us about their organisation explaining that their aim is to provide refugees with a welcome pack.
