We had lots of fun on the banking and in the Science Garden looking at different types of trees and their leaves. Once back in class, we managed to identify and sort the leaves we had collected into different categories.

Clever Coding – Minecraft and Dance Party!!!

Bikeability

We had lots of fun today in Bikeability.

First we completed our safety checks.  We ensured our saddles were secure, our brakes were working and our saddles were at the correct height so we were comfortable and safe.

We practised our balancing and braking and had a competition at the end.

For next week, some of us need to ensure both brakes are working and that our saddles are at the correct height.  We all need to ensure we have a helmet with us too.

Next week we will be focusing on speed and control.

Digestion Experiment

We had such a fun time this week in Science learning all about the digestive system.  We even made our own poo!

It was really disgusting and amazing all at the same time! 🙂

Some of our photos you will find below.

We will be writing up our experiment in our jotters next week and we will all have a photo included to share with you at a later date.

Welcome back!!!

Welcome to Primary 5a!

We have been very busy this week.

Below are some of the activities we have been involved in…

  • Playing ‘Do as I say, not as I do’
  • Making class rules and designing posters
  • Mental Mathematics Bingo and Countdown
  • Writing an acrostic poem
  • Reach for the stars – artwork showing our hopes and dreams for the future
  • Writing all about ourselves
  • P.E (on a very windy day!)

The pupils have been working hard to  gain house points and also group points.

Every Friday, the group with the most points will be awarded the superhero cushions. Stay tuned to find out who the winners will be!

Symmetry

Today we decided to take our learning outdoors. We competed in groups to see which group could work as a team and make symmetrical patterns using the P.E equipment  the fastest.

Ramadan

In class, we have been learning about the significance of fasting and discussed ways in which we can help others during the month of Ramadan.

We created a countdown to help us track how many days of fasting are left. We have all been challenged to complete an act of kindness for each day of fasting and will share how we have made others happy in class every morning.

Kindness Web

During our Health and Wellbeing lesson this afternoon we created a kindness web.

We talked about how we are all a community in the classroom and school and how one person’s actions or unkind word can affect everyone else. We passed the cotton wool on to someone by saying kind words to them. Our kindness web was so strong and we got to see what a kind and lovely class we have.

It helped us learn about kindness and how we can help each other – Holly
