P7C BLOG 6th SEPTEMBER

MATHS

In maths this week we have been dividing by two digit and three digit numbers. 

We have also been looking at sequences and multiplying 4-5 digit numbers.

STEM

In STEM we have been looking at plants around the world and different regions, like desert and mountains etc. We also researched future jobs and did a quiz. We created posters about the jobs. Some jobs were mechanical engineer, aerospace engineer and cancer researcher etc.

We also did a KAPLA bridge building challenge. You got points for height and length and lost them for using columns. 

WRITING

In writing we did three different types of poems which were, haikus, limericks and cinquains about nature.

LITERACY

In literacy we did apostrophes and practised different words with apostrophes in them. We also continued to read Cloud Busting and answered some comprehension questions.

Class blog 30th August

P7C week 3 

 This week in P7C we have been doing plenty of fun things.  

 One thing we have been doing is the class charter.  Our topic for the charter is a mix of beans and cheese! We have individually made our personalized cheese or bean characters and we were put into groups and we were given an article to write what adults and children should do.  

 In Writing we have been looking for the past 3 week we have been looking at poems.  

This week we have been looking at simile poems. We started with looking at a book called Cloud Busting by Mallory  Blackman. Then we picked a thing we really liked or hated and made a simile poem.  

In maths we have been looking at the four operations. We have been looking at different ways to solve the equations. We have also looked at the grid method (multiplication) partitioning and multiplying division  

In physical education we have been looking at fitness and in the MUGA we are doing a mix of ball sports and we are doing a competition.

Class Blog – 23rd August

We’ve had a great time getting to know each other in P7 and have been really busy.

Here’s the class working on our STEM challenge to make a wearable name badge using a card, pipe cleaners, some string and a paper clip.
