Class blog -7th February

We have been investigating speed, distance and time in maths. We did some activities in the playground where we calculated speed by measuring the distance and time of different activities. We also made marble runs in class and found out the speed of the marbles through the run.

Class Blog- 31st January

We’ve had a busy time this week. We completed some writing about AI, learnt some more rugby skills, coded some games and worked on our French guide booklets.

Here are some of our finished Chinese and Scottish artworks from last week:

Class Blog – 17th January

We’ve had a busy couple of weeks back since the holidays. We’ve started a new topic looking at democracy and rights. We have begun learning about the fight for votes for women and comparing the tactics of the Suffragettes and the Suffragists. We started by discussing why democracy and voting are important and learnt about who could and couldn’t vote in the UK in the past.

We did some research and created posters comparing the two organisations campaigning for votes for women:

Class blog – 13th December

We had another busy week, continuing our WWII topic, having our last P.E session till the new year at Eastwood and helping out at the present room.

Here’s some photos from our WWII drama activity:

As always, if anyone asks not to have a photo on the blog I don’t post them.

Maths

In maths this week we have been doing a variety of stuff including angles and data handling. For data handling we searched up information of a thing you wanted to do and made it into a line graph.

Literacy

In literacy we have been looking at WW2 comprehension things. In writing we made a letter pretending we were an evacuee.

IDL

For our topic, we had on the first day made blitzkrieg paintings (also known as lightning war) and added buildings flashlights and other World War 2 related items.

Mr. Flood hung up photos of evacuees and we had to go round with a worksheet where we wrote what was happening. Then we learnt more about evacuees’ experience.

Class Blog – 29th November

We’ve really been getting into our WWII topic this week. So far we’ve looked at graphs related to WWII, read an account of the evacuation, read an extract of Anne Frank’s diary, created time lines, learnt about the leaders, made propaganda posters and more. Below are some photos of us researching the Blitz and creating some artwork inspired by it:

As always only those children who wanted to be are featured on the blog.

Class blog – 8th November

This week we finished our apprentice topic. For our final task we invented a product, created a pitch and filmed an advert to promote it.

We also finished off bikeability. Well done to all that took part. Certificates went home today with information about areas to work on.

Class blog- 1st November

This week we took part in our first road session of bikeability. We learnt to start and stop safely, to turn left and right and to do U-turns. We had to think about making observations and giving clear signals.
