After lunch, we got new books and made questions based on the contents, index, and glossary of the books. Here are some books we read:  Animals from the past, William Shakespear, The Maya, Warriors Of The world and History Of Football.

On Wednesday, we had PE outside again due to rehearsals, we did some more scatterball and also some poison ball. After break, we finished off our tests, they took so long it brought us up to lunchtime! After lunch, we made some bags out of t-shirts for earth day! We brought in some old t-shirts and we cut the sleeves and collar off and did some knots at the bottom and we had a tote bag!

On Monday morning we had P.E in the muga. Mrs Allan showed us a game called scatterball. We kicked or threw multiple balls and other things and a receiving team tried to catch them and put them back in a hoop at the start before the thrower could get round the muga. We also played a tennis game with a partner. You start with two legs and two arms and when you miss the ball and it bounces off the ground twice you lose a limb.

On Tuesday we took a quiz to find out what animal we are. In the quiz you answered 20 questions and once we finished it showed us an animal and its personality, jobs we could have and our mottos. The personality and mottos lined up to us but not many thought the jobs did.

On Wednesday we practised our school show songs with p7A. The girls and boys who wanted to sing more went through to our class to sing some songs by themselves. We practised our main song without vocals and it turned out really well.

On Thursday we made cards for Eid. A lot of people made a decorated moon and had Eid Mubarak on them. They looked really pretty. With Mrs Hutchison we did some drama, we did a mirroring game. There was a mirror and a leader. The mirror has to follow the leader and the audience has to find out who’s who. We also played a game where we mimed we were in an invisible box that started shrinking and we had to try and break out, some were very funny.

On friday we had some BIG news. We went into P7A and the parts for the show were announced. Everyone was so excited.

On Friday morning we were learning all about magnets and were experimenting and predicting which objects would attract to them. We discovered that some of the same type of coins did different things!

After break we did a bit of maths and then we had assembly. In the afternoon we did a bit of show and tell as some of us had brought in their families world warII historical artefacts like photos, letters and ration books. It was fascinating.

World Book Day

For World Book Day, we read our picture books to Primary 1 nd 2.  Three classes visited our classroom and spent time listening to the stories that we wrote and illustrated.

On Thursday, we completed more World Book Day activities in the morning before our author visit after break.  Liz Macintyre told us about her book called “Love Letters from a Desert Rat” which is made up of the letters that her dad (Alec) wrote to her mum (Nan) during World War 2.  Liz’s mum had kept the 300 letters a secret until she was very ill and then told her where to find them.  There were lots of photographs too.

We also created our own quizzes using our knowledge about books and authors.

On Monday and Tuesday we were off for the long weekend.

On Wednesday we started off the day by doing P.E. We each got into groups and came up with a game to do with the class. There were lots of different games. We had leaping potato which is similar to leapfrog, duck ,duck, goose, toilet tig, monkey football and a combination of basket ball and American football.

On Thursday we started off by reading our book and doing fact and opinion tasks .We also had a special visitor in called Mrs Waddell. The novel we are reading is remembrance and the book is about a girl who tried to help in the war by becoming a young nurse. Her and her brother have a very good connection.

After break we did some fraction, percentages and decimals we would start by getting a decimal or a fraction or percentage and you would convert it into the other two for example if it was 0.45 in percentages it would be 45% in a fraction it would be 45/100. Then Mrs Hutchison came in and we went down to the art room to do some Spanish about family members for example “My Mum “ would be  “Mi Madre and my dad would be Mi Padre and if it’s a boy it ends in “os” if it’s a girl it end in “as”

After lunch we still had Mrs Hutchison and we went back down to the art room and did more Spanish because we didn’t have time for art so in Spanish we had a worksheet and we would translate the sentences into English the was key words like vivo which mean I live, Then con means with so if you said vivo con it would mean I live with…

On Friday we did negative numbers in Maths. Then we started our storybooks for World Book Day.  We will write and illustrate these for Primary 1 and 2. We had an achievement assembly where people got certificates and we had a raffle ticket treat of decorating biscuits.
