On Monday we had spelling first thing, our spelling rule this week was gue and gh after that we did P.E. outside. We did some running for 3 minutes and then 45 seconds trying to keep up the same pace all the way. We also played capture the flag. It was super fun. After break we finished off the writing in our stories for the primary ones on world book day. After lunch was quite busy , we looked at some options for our school show and then we had the choice of either going to the woodland or doing some scale drawings.

On Tuesday we did our novel study, Remembrance in the morning and after break we did negative numbers in maths. After lunch we went over the homework for this week and learned about humanism which is when people don’t have a religion or believe in god but still try to do good.

On Wednesday we did P.E. outside because the hall was getting used. We did octopus as our warm up, then some relay races of different kinds, then we got a tennis racket and a spot and tried to flip them like pancakes. After break we did some maths, we were working with negative numbers. It was fun and challenging. After lunch, we learned about WW2 and where all the countries were that fought and if they were on the Allies (the uk’s team) and the Axis (Germany’s team).

On Thursday in the morning Mrs Denholm came in instead of Mrs Hutchinson and we did drama. We wrote scripts about a family in WW1 and acted them out in front of the class. We continued this after break and then added the finishing touches to our books. After lunch we did maths, we were still working on negative numbers.

The P7 football team played five games in a tournament at Barrhead High School. We won 3, lost 1 and drew 1.

On Friday we started with maths again and did some more work on negative numbers. After break we had flexible Friday where we chose the class jobs for next week and finished off some of our work.

On Monday and Tuesday we were off for the long weekend.

On Wednesday we started off the day by doing P.E. We each got into groups and came up with a game to do with the class. There were lots of different games. We had leaping potato which is similar to leapfrog, duck ,duck, goose, toilet tig, monkey football and a combination of basket ball and American football.

After break we did some volume work with shapes. Volume with shapes is when you do length x breadth x height. We finished off our teejay pages.

After lunch we did our pocket gardens. A pocket garden is 100cm by 120cm with flowers, a celebration/theme and edible plants and berries. We created these for the “Keep Scotland Beautiful” pocket garden competition.

On Thursday we started off by reading our book and doing fact and opinion tasks .We also had a special visitor in called Mrs Waddell. The novel we are reading is remembrance and the book is about a girl who tried to help in the war by becoming a young nurse. Her and her brother have a very good connection.

After break we did some fraction, percentages and decimals we would start by getting a decimal or a fraction or percentage and you would convert it into the other two for example if it was 0.45 in percentages it would be 45% in a fraction it would be 45/100. Then Mrs Hutchison came in and we went down to the art room to do some Spanish about family members for example “My Mum “ would be  “Mi Madre and my dad would be Mi Padre and if it’s a boy it ends in “os” if it’s a girl it end in “as”

After lunch we still had Mrs Hutchison and we went back down to the art room and did more Spanish because we didn’t have time for art so in Spanish we had a worksheet and we would translate the sentences into English the was key words like vivo which mean I live, Then con means with so if you said vivo con it would mean I live with…

On Friday we did negative numbers in Maths. Then we started our storybooks for World Book Day.  We will write and illustrate these for Primary 1 and 2. We had an achievement assembly where people got certificates and we had a raffle ticket treat of decorating biscuits.

Monday: We did P.E and the warmup people (Charlotte and Isla C) picked octopus tig. We’re now working on Cardio. We ran around the muga for 2 minutes then took a little break and did Head, knees, toes and snatch. To play the game you have to find a partner and put a cone in between you and Mrs Allan would shout out HEAD,TOES,KNEES or SNATCH. If she shouted HEAD you touch your head same for toes and knees but if she shouted SNATCH  you would try to take the cone from the  middle. Then we ran for another 2 minutes. After that we wrote down our spelling words for our homework.

We then did Imaginative writing. Some people used a picture for inspiration, others didn’t.

Tuesday: We read chapters 6-7 in our class book remembrance. The book is about WW1 and the main characters are: Charlotte, Francis,Mrs Armstrong-Barnes ,John-Malcom,Maggie and Alex. We then tea-stained pieces of paper to make timelines with. The book is set in 1915 but is now changing to 1916.

We then got given our homework for the week.

Wednesday: We had P.E first thing in the morning. The warmup people picked Dodgeball for us to play. We then finished our mini olympics and counted up our scores! We’re still waiting for the results!!

We worked on Speed in maths. Some people chose to do the trickier sheet and some chose the easier TJ page.

Whilst we were doing maths some people went out with Miss Sime to work on our display.

Thursday: In the morning we had our literacy standardised tests. We worked on them for most of the day. They both had a volcano theme to them.

In the afternoon we did art with Mrs Hutchinson and we made pinch pots with clay. We first had to condition the clay by kneading it and rolling it into a smooth ball when it was done. We then flattened the top and the bottom to make a cylinder shape, which we then stuck our thumbs into the middle of the top and twisted and turned them whilst pushing down to make a hole. We then pinched the top to make a rim and then hollowed out the inside even more to make the hole  bigger. We then used some water to smooth out any cracks in them. They all looked amazing when they were done.

Friday:

In the morning with Miss Sime we were working on pie charts, line graphs and bar charts using the chromebooks.

We then had assembly after break where we were talking about friendship and our school values.

After lunch we worked on our IDL topic (WWI) where we are looking at the trenches.
