The Last Blog of 2024!

Hi readers,

Welcome to the last blog of 2024!

Numeracy

This week we played The Festive Pirate Game. We worked in pairs to try and win the most amount of points. We used our knowledge and skills of Coordinates to tactically win and steal points from other teams.

We also completed Christmas code crackers, as well as using our problem solving skills to complete different maths puzzles.

P7 Christmas Party!

We all had so much fun at our Christmas party where we played lots of party games!

Thank you for reading this week’s blog!

Hi readers,

Welcome to this week’s blog post!

IDL – World War 2

To finish off our topic, we were put into groups to research another aspect of World War 2. The topics included the role of women, evacuees, school life, the Royal Air Force and how weapons were developed during the war.

We enjoyed creating PowerPoint presentations based on our topic and we are looking forward to presenting them to the class next week.

Drama – Freeze Frames

In groups we created freeze frames based on World War 2. These scenarios focused on evacuees and their life during the war.

As a starter activity, we played Say it Another Way where we had to say nursery rhymes in a different way. Here are some examples:

  • Say it as if you are a teacher
  • Say it as if you are in a hurry
  • Say it as if you are very tired. Say it as if you are a robot

We used an interactive wheel to decide how we were going to say the nursery rhyme.

Thank you for reading this week’s blog post!

Hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Hi readers,

Welcome to this week’s blog!

Topic – WW2

This week we watched a video based on what life looked like during WW2. We took notes from the video, as well as books. We discussed the similarities and differences from then and now.

We also took a look at old newspapers and ration books.

Tinkercad

This week we also focused on how people stayed safe during WW2. We looked at Morrison Shelters, Anderson Shelters and public shelters. For our task, we then created a Morrison Shelter and a Anderson Shelter on Tikercad!
