Welcome back to this weeks blog
This week was Maths Week Scotland, in maths we made curves with straight lines called Parabolic lines and tessellations art.
There were different activities such as sewing, drawing, geo-boards and more.
In P.E we played netball and there were five different teams. There was dark blue, light blue, pink, red and green. We have improved and now understand the rules and therefore we are playing to win!
We had a science afternoon linked to our Extreme Earth topic and there were five tasks. The first task was to put some cubes in the middle of 2 tables, with a gap in between, then we put a cardboard piece in the middle (the epicentre) and we had to build a house and then hit the bottom with a ruler to see if it stayed. Task 2 was to build a structure to hold a big ball on a wobble board. If it held you succeeded but if it flew off you failed. Task 3 was to build a house out of toothpicks and marshmallows and balance it on jelly. If it fell apart, you failed, if it stayed up then you passed the test. But you could only use 20 marshmallows and 20 toothpicks.Task 4 was to build a tall lego house and put it on a wobble board and you had to see if it would break. Task 5 was 4 people would sit on chairs and lean back and put their heads on someone else’s lap and then some people would move the chairs backwards and try to stay up.
In Literacy we got new books called The Thief Lord, Framed and Little Manfred and we got new maths and science spelling words linked to maths week.
We did a house quiz and it was tricky and all the houses got a reward for this.
Thanks For Listening.
