This week, we had our committee meetings. In Sports council, we did a survey about the name of the new basketball area. In Reading Buddies, we got our badges and we found out the name of our P2 buddy. In the Pupil Council we made posters about our work. In the Eco Committee we did a worm survey, the Digital Leaders made posters for Safer Internet Day and Dos and Don’t to keep safe online. The Neurodiversity ambassadors had kitbag training and the Rights Respecting School committee found the correct places around the school for the new RRS logo.
Monday
On Monday morning we started with our Literacy Standardised Tests about dance. After lunch we did some spelling and then we went to the Learning Lab with Mr Atkinson. We worked on our Upstream Battle project and looked at places that produce carbon dioxide as part of ocean acidification.
Tuesday
In Science, we planned an experiment using a worksheet. The experiment used shells in jars with water and salt, one with vinegar and one water, and one with water salt and vinegar to show what happens to shells with ocean acidification. The shell in the jar with most vinegar started to float and dissolve and disintegrate. In water, salt and vinegar the shell started to become clear. On Tuesday afternoon the reading buddies had their meeting!
Wednesday
In the morning we did some maths before we went to PE. In PE we had some gymnastic equipment to do balances and jumps. We chose if we wanted the beam higher or lower. We really enjoyed it.
After break we wrote letters as if we were attending the queen’s coronation, climbing Everest, the Empire Windrush or as an evacuee. We watched some short videos to help with our ideas as well as last week’s Expert tasks.
In the afternoon we finished our Pop Art with Mrs Fry. we had four of the same popular thing in different colours. We learned about Lunar new year. In our class, we are all goats!
Thursday

After break we did some maths and mental maths. in there afternoon we learned about Jewish synagogues and found out that we passed one very often but didn’t know what it was!
After that, we listened to 4 of The Beatles’ most popular songs as part of Through the Decades for the 1960s. We voted on our favourite song. Most of us liked “Here comes the sun”.
