Class Blog- 31st March

“We were making a logo for the Rights Respecting Schools Committee. The RRS committee are going to pick a winner and put it around the school.” Millie

“On Thursday we worked with our talk partners to make either a PowerPoint or a Jamboard. It had to be about one of our Children’s Rights, like the right to play or the right to an education etc.” Katie

“In the woodland we were planting wild flower seeds so our woodland is healthier. A few weeks ago we cleared out some planters and we also found some other spots to sew seeds. We are hoping to grow some flowers to help bees and other pollinators.” Harper

“On Tuesday, we went into different classes with our houses. We designed a mascot that had to mainly be the colour of our house. It could be a monster or a mythical animal. It had to use the shape of our island.” Amelia

“In Maths we were learning about area and perimeter. We had different areas and perimeters and we had to draw shapes to match these areas and perimeters. For perimeter all the edges had to add up. For area we multiplied one side by another side.” Steven

“In writing we tried to use persuasive writing to convince something, like banning Fridays at school or getting rid of homework. It was great fun.” Calvin

“As part of rights respecting week we thought of a right. We had to draw a picture of the right being respected and on the other side the right not being respected.” Mason

Class Blog- 24th March

“We played with some Sphero robots. We controlled it with the Ipads. We used some coding to make them move. You could also draw a route for it to follow. We worked in groups.” Mueez and Mason

“On Monday we did P.E in the MUGA we played tennis.” Lisa

“On Wednesday we wrote a persuasive piece arguing that homework should be banned or not banned.” Millie

“On Monday we tried a new seat tactic. We’re doing random seats that change every week.” Ross

“Mr Flood brought in some empty medicine packets. We had to make a table and write, the name, special information and the dose.” Hadia

“On Friday we worked on our John Muir award. We started making a mind map on our old topic Clyde in the Classroom to put in our folders.” Steven and Roslyn

“On Wednesday Mrs Fry taught us about perimeter. We had to measure and estimate the perimeter of different objects in the room.” Katie

Class blog- 17th March

This week Joe got a trophy from his chess club. He won the most points in the club coming first in the competition. Well done Joe!

“On Monday we did P.E with Miss Hutchison. It was raining so be played Boccia and did some dancing in the class.” Lisa

“This week in maths we did different stations. The first station was weighing different objects with a scale, the second station was using metre sticks to measure different objects, and the third station was a sheet with different measurement and weight questions.” Arnav

“For outdoor learning with Miss Fletcher we got sticks and leaves to make different shapes and we played some games.” Sophia

“In drama the last few weeks we started making scenes where someone goes missing. This week we performed them for the class. We got feedback from our classmates, two stars and a wish.” Amelia

“On Tuesday in science we  made parachutes from string, a bin bag and a paper clip. We tested them. The bigger the parachute the slower it fell.” Mason

“Yesterday we helped Miss Fletcher change the wall display to show some of our recent work.” Mason

 

Class Blog- 10th March

“Today we did Spanish we memorised all the vocabulary we learnt in Spanish and we got into groups and made posters. We created  posters for the numbers up to 10, fruit and veg, weather, seasons, greeting and days of the week and months of the year.” Katie and Ross

“We did comprehension on Thursday where we used the comprehension boxes and got to choose our own topics and marked these ourselves. ” Maira

“On Wednesday in writing we were creating the resolution to a story about a boy that got turned into a frog. ” Jad

“We  created a menu that could be a kids or adults menu. The menu had to have 2 drinks, 3 starters, 3 mains and 3 desserts. You had to include pictures, special offers like soup of the day, and prices. ” Mason

 

3rd March – Class Blog

” For world book day we did presentations about Roald Dahl. we got to present these to the class. We learnt that he was a famous children’s author who created many books.” Steven and Roslyn

” On Monday we went to release our fish with Toby from the Clyde River Foundation. We went to the local river where we were given a tub with 4-6 fish in it.” Harper

              

“Today we were learning about different weathers in Spanish. We did a quiz to see if we were able to remember what they were.” Jad

“During woodlands today we did a scavenger hunt, we had to find things that were different lengths and write these down. We had to go in partners for the hunt.” Millie

“During maths we finished our grams and kilograms topic. We converted between grams and kilograms.” Arnav
