Our splendid burns supper!

Hi readers,

Recently we have been learning how to write instructions and have been making some tasty recipes. We made empire biscuits for our Scotland topic because the shortbread and the jam are Scottish.

We also went to the hall and made vegetarian haggis pastry parcels, with Slyvia our head cook! We got to shape the pastry ourselves and decide how much haggis to put inside.

The haggis was for our Burns Supper, which we had later in the day. First we decorated the hall, then we had our food, some people recited poetry, we sang 3 craws and then went into the hall for a ceilidh! We learned the Canadian Barn and had lots of fun!

Check out some pictures below! 🙂

“I enjoyed my empire biscuit. I think it had the right amount of jam it it!” Hugo

“I showed the class some Highland dancing, it was the first step of the Sword dance!” Jura

“I loved doing the ceilidh dancing!” Jovie
