Titanic experiments and awesome advent

Wow, we have been so busy! Read on to catch up on our last few weeks recently, in P4a!

“Do you know why so many people died in the Titanic disaster?” John

“We learned that there were so many reasons combined. It hit an iceberg but also there were not enough lifeboats.” Kiyansh

“The closest ship nearby ignored messages for help!” Zak

“Also in IDL, we made a tinfoil boat, we put them in water to see if they would float. We added blu tac as if it were people, cars and furniture and tested if it would still float.” Isla

“They did float but then we cut a hole into our boats and when we put them in the water, they started filling up  and they sank. This helped us learn what the water was like when it was flowing through Titanic.” Fergus

“Last week, we completed stories based on a John Lewis Christmas Advert. It was about a little boy coming home on the bus and he spotted something fall from the sky.” Amber

“The boy found an alien and a broken spaceship in the forest. We  had to write what might have happened next.” Lucas

“I was proud of my story because I used lots of adjectives and adverbs and read it to the class.” Amara

“On Wednesday in Music , we were playing Christmas songs using instruments.  It was really fun and I really enjoyed it!” Mila

“In Maths, we have been learning about calendars. We had to add information to plan the month of December. We added Christmas Day,  Advent Sundays and other dates.” Basmah

“We also answered questions on an iPad game. I got up to 48 and I really enjoyed it!” Amelia

“In RME, we have been learning about Advent and how it is celebrated in different countries. In Mexico, they have a nativity in the streets and have a pinata every night!” Neave

“We also sequenced the Christmas story. I learned that the wise men visited King Herod before visiting the new born King, Jesus,” Samarth

We look forward to our Christmas party next week. Come back next week for more!
