IDL Blog May

Welcome to our latest IDL Blog – apologies for the lack of photos, I’ve had an IT glitch!

We are nearly at the end of Learning Journey 3 – our board games are all created and we are at the finishing touches and testing stages.

The games are all looking great and all of the visitors to the Learning Lab have been so impressed with their development.

We are all very excited to share them with the wider school community.

The Meta Skills we have been learning about this term are Focusing and Adapting. We have been working on our active listening skills and ways to block out distractions. The Adapting Meta Skill will help with all of the transition changes over the coming weeks.

We have now started Learning Journey 4 and will be investigating the history of the local area.  Hopefully by summer we’ll all be local historians!

Wild Challenge begins!

“Welcome back to our fabulous blog, we hope you enjoy it!” Sarah

“Today we did a table swap and saw who is sitting with us. Mrs Hobson made a game of this, she described everyone and we had to guess who the person was.” Fraser

“We have also written Unbelievable Stories about Summer. Mine was one and a half pages long!” Samarth

“Also for our Wild Challenge, we went on a plant safari. We had to describe what we found. I found spiders and a few ants!” Basmah

“We have also learned more about time, like quarter past and half past. I did pretty well with this.” Lucas

Luckily, a new student joined our class this week and we are so happy she is here! She has told us she has had a nice first week at Crookfur.

Tune in next week for more!
