PRIMARY 4A Class Blog – Week Beginning: 19/09/22 and 26/09/22

Literacy and English

Jace – We were learning about predictions in Literacy and we made our own predictions. We also learned about verbs and did the actions.

Kerr – We were writing a character description about Paddington, Cruella De Vil or Hiccup.

Numeracy and Mathematics (Maths Week)

Scarlett – In Maths Weeks, we did different activities like using the chromebooks to make tile patterns, we used the geoboards to make symmetrical patterns, we used the blocks to make 3D landscapes and we made maths puzzles and got a friend to solve them.

Music

London – In Music, we threw a ball to one another and swapped places when chanting the beat and singing a song.

Art

Isabella – We used the clay to make Viking rune stones. Next week we are going to paint them.

IDL (Social Studies) 

Lilian – We all made our Viking puppets and wrote a script. Yesterday we did our puppet show performance to the rest of the class and it was lots of fun. We gave all of the groups feedback on their performances.

Outdoor Learning/Technologies

Harrison – For Outdoor Learning, it was raining so we couldn’t go outside. So instead we made slideshow presentations about different woodland animals to share with the class. Me and Jamie are researching worms.

PRIMARY 4A Class Blog – Week Beginning: 12/09/22

Karate Special

Jace – Last Friday Harrison and I showed the class our Karate moves to get to orange belt.

Social Studies (IDL)

Hasan – In Social Studies, we were writing a Viking script. Next week we are going to make puppets and perform a show.

Literacy and English

Scarlett- In Literacy we were writing about either a witch or a pirate. We had to think of adjectives to describe them and write a character description about them.

A Special Visitor

Jessica – Mrs Amin brought in her baby Myra to show everyone. We got to ask her questions.

Drama Performances (RME)

Gurleen – In RME, we were learning about the story of the khalsa. We read a script and used props and performed in front of the class.

Numeracy and Mathematics

Max – In Maths, The Number Ninjas were continuing with 3-digit addition.

Expressive Arts

Lilian – In Art, we were designing our own Viking shields and swords.

PE

Ava – In hockey we were learning how to shoot.

Outdoor Learning

Qasim – We practised building Viking longhouses. In 2 weeks we will have a competition to see who can build the best one!

PRIMARY 4A Class Blog – Week Beginning: 05/09/22

Literacy and English 

London – In Literacy, we started Nelson Spelling.

Max M – In our Comprehension, we were reading a story and answered questions about “The Hodgeheg” or “Where’s Dad”.  We went down to the carpet to discuss our answers and correct them.

Numeracy and Mathematics

Jace – In Maths, we were learning how to add 3-digit numbers with carrying.

Ava – In Maths, we had to solve addition with cubes.

IDL (Social Studies and Art) 

Harrison – In Expressive Arts, we learned how to write Viking runes. We did a Viking graffiti of our name using runes.

Hasan – In Social Studies, we learned how to live like Vikings. We drew out their longhouses and tasted their foods.

PE

Luca V – In PE we were learning hockey skills. We were learning how to use the hockey stick properly, how to hold it and how to dribble with it.

Lilian – In PE it was raining but we all still had fun. We dribbled the ball around cones. We then had to come inside and we did some dancing for indoor PE. We had to move all of the tables and chairs.

Literacy and English

Adam – In Literacy, we were doing the first join in handwriting.

Emelia – In Literacy, we completed a comprehension task about Little Red Riding Hood.

Numeracy and Mathematics

Kerr – In Maths, we were learning how to add 2-digit numbers.

Social Studies

Harrison – This week in Social Studies, we put events that happened in order on a timeline. It was about The Vikings.

RME

Gurleen – In RME, we have been learning about Guru Nanak for our Sikhism topic. We had to colour in and label a picture of Guru Nanak talking about his story.

Expressive Arts

Ava – In Art this week, we were making Hiccup portraits. We used oil pastels to colour him in. Hiccup is a Viking from the book “How to Train Your Dragon”.

PE 

Emily – In PE, we played loads of games and sports. This week we did hockey. We were practising dribbling with the ball.

Isabella – I liked PE.

HWB

Hasan – In HWB, we were learning about Growth Mindset. We checked our confidence. We read a book about a girl who was crossing a tightrope. The girl was not confident at the start but then she kept trying and got better and better.

Outdoor Learning/Technology

Luca V – In Outdoor Learning, we were taking pictures of interesting things that we found in the woodland using the Chromebooks. Then we had to put the pictures on to a Google Slide on Google Classroom for everyone else to see.
