Happy Friday

This week in Primary 3 we have been learning lots.

In our writing lesson we learned to vary our sentence lengths to make them longer and shorter. We also wrote a letter to our friends and family to invite them along to our show!

We have had lots of practice on the stage to make sure our show is excellent for everyone coming to watch! We are so excited to perform it for you.

We hope you have a lovely weekend,

Miss Ginesi and Primary 3C 🙂

Happy Friday!

In numeracy we have been practicing our times tables facts up to the four times table and using what we know about multiplication to practice dividing and sharing between groups.

In literacy some of us have been working with Mrs Grey on our phonics sounds to help improve our reading and spelling skills.

We have also spent lots of time practicing our school show and we can’t wait to perform it for you.

Have a lovely weekend,

We have done lots of fun learning in Primary 3 this week!

We started off our week with a trip to Hampden park (check out our other blog post below for all the pictures, videos and information).

We have also been putting lots of practice for our school show (we can’t wait for you to see it!)

Finally, we ended our week with World Book Day, lots of us brought in amazing creations about our favourite books. Can you guess any of them?

Hampden Park

On Tuesday, Primary Three had a fantastic trip to Hampden Park.

During the trip we took part in three workshops.

The first allowed us to explore the Scottish Football Museum, where we took part in a quiz to test all our new knowledge. We got to see the golden boot and the oldest football cup in the world (the Scottish Cup).

Next, we received a stadium tour from Tom. He took us all around Hampden and we got to sit in the changing rooms where the players get ready for matches. We went to the stands where 50,000 supporters can come to watch and we got to hear the Hampden roar as we walked through the tunnel out onto the pitch.

Finally, we got to take part in our very own football training! We practiced dribbling the ball through sets of cones as a team. Then we all got to score a goal and the instructor measured how fast we could kick the ball. (Ronaldo has never scored a goal at Hampden, but Primary 3C has!).

Overall, we had a great time at Hampden park! Check out some of our lovely photos below 🙂

This week in Primary 3, we have been busy!

Mrs Nasar taught us about Ramadan, and we made our very own decorations to hang up in our classroom!

We also continued to talk about the importance of healthy eating and made our very own Eatwell Guide on paper plates.

In our writing, we focused on setting and used ambitious adjectives to describe different places.

Finally,  we learnt about more organs in our body and made our very own model of the lungs using straws and paper bags. Check out some pictures of us below.

This week Primary Three have done lots of fun learning!

Mrs Macdonald taught us all about plants in the winter. We learnt about hypothesis and we know scientists use this word to make a guess before they do an experiment.

Some of us were learning about 3D shapes, we know that 3D shapes have 3 properties: corners, faces and edges. You can see some of our fantastic 3D models below.

In our literacy, we were learning about sequencing a story. We can now read a passage and tell you the order events in the story happen!

Finally, we were learning all about our own bodies. We now know different parts of the human skeleton. We were measuring our own skeleton to check if any of our bones were the same length! We now know that our height and our arm span are approximately the same length!

Our week finished with Primary 3 winning this week’s trophy for keeping our lunch hall tidy! We are so proud of ourselves.

Happy Friday!

Happy New Year!

This week, Primary three have been settling back into our routines.

We continued to practice telling the time using both analogue and digital clocks.

We used our comprehension skills to practice answering questions about a text on polar animals.

Mrs Lyall came in, and we learnt about beat and rhythm using claves.

Finally, we started to think about our new IDL journey: Are Humans Better Than Animals? We talked about animals with ‘superheroes,’ and Miss Ginesi asked us to think of lots of questions we have about animals and humans. We are very excited to find out the answers to our questions.

Have a great weekend!

This week in Primary three we have been having lots of Christmas fun!

In numeracy we completed Christmas problem solving to solve the mystery of the missing mince pie and in our literacy lessons , we cracked the code of the secret inventor.

Happy Friday!

The Christmas countdown is on!

This week in Primary 3C we have been learning all about parables and we focused on the Good Samaritan story and the Prodigal Son.

In Numeracy we have been practicing telling the time. We can now tell the time on a digital clock to quarter to and on an analogue clock in 5 minute intervals.

Some of us were also creating pizzas to help us practice our halves and quarters.

We are also so excited for Christmas and Mrs Dougall taught us how to make origami Santa faces and draw an Elf on the Shelf. Mr Atkinson showed us how to make our own igloos using kapla and showed us how we can use AI for ideas to design our own Santa Sleigh.

Have a lovely weekend!
