Happy Friday!

The Christmas countdown is on!

This week in Primary 3C we have been learning all about parables and we focused on the Good Samaritan story and the Prodigal Son.

In Numeracy we have been practicing telling the time. We can now tell the time on a digital clock to quarter to and on an analogue clock in 5 minute intervals.

Some of us were also creating pizzas to help us practice our halves and quarters.

We are also so excited for Christmas and Mrs Dougall taught us how to make origami Santa faces and draw an Elf on the Shelf. Mr Atkinson showed us how to make our own igloos using kapla and showed us how we can use AI for ideas to design our own Santa Sleigh.

Have a lovely weekend!

This week in Primary three we have been learning all about food chains.

We know that every food chain has an energy source, a producer and at least one consumer. We were able to create our own food chains using paper plates, string and our fantastic drawing skills!

We have also been getting better at our gymnastic skills and practiced different rolls in PE.

Finally, we finished our class novel ‘The Magic Finger’ and were able to identify that the characters in the book developed empathy and that we should always care for others, including animals.

We hope everyone has a great weekend!

This week Primary 3 have been doing lots of fun learning,

We have been learning about bar graphs and can now create our own with lots of interesting information.

Mrs Dougall taught us all about biomimicry which is when you copy or imitate things in nature.

We finished the week off by revising our knowledge of living and non-living things and creating our own mindmap to establish the differences between living, non-living and dead things. See some of our fabulous mindmaps below!

Have a good weekend!

In Primary 3 this week we had lots of numeracy fun for maths week! We explored shapes in nature by walking through the playground and the woodlands. We also collected leaves from the woodlands and explored lines of symmetry creating our own symmetrical images of leaves.

We learnt about the rules schools had during the Victorian times and created our own old school rule book using tea bags to make our paper look old and stained.

We ended our exiting week with the colour run and had lots of colourful fun but are excited to relax over the September weekend.

This Week’s Blog Post

Good Afternoon,

This week we had lots of fun!

With Mrs Grey we read The Ugly Duckling and re-created the story with our own twist.

In health and wellbeing we learned about perseverance. When you find a task challenging and you get into ‘the dip’ you have to keep focusing and not give up! We are excited to practice this in next week’s learning!

In our Victorians lessons we also learnt more about Queen Victoria and created a timeline of her life. We also made posters about different aspects of life as a Victorian child such as, the games they played, who helped them day to day, the foods they ate and the transport they used. We presented our findings to the class to show our friends our fabulous work! Pictures of some of our posters can be seen below.

Have a great weekend!

Primary 3C Blog

Good Afternoon,

This week in Primary 3C we have been learning about life in the Victorian times. We learnt that some children in the Victorian times weren’t able to go to school and they used to work to earn money for their families. These children could even be as young as four years old!

In our Health and Wellbeing lessons we learnt about the flexible brain. We know that having a flexible brain means you can think of different ways to solve problems, whereas stuck thinking is when your brain gets stuck on one idea. All the boys and girls in Primary 3C use their flexible brain to help them solve problems everyday in the classroom.

Finally, in numeracy we have all been learning about fact families. A fact family is like a family of numbers that belong together because they can make number sentences with each other! We have been solving our own using two addition and two subtraction facts.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend!

Our week in Primary 3C

We have had a great week in Primary 3!

We have been learning about Manfred the baddie with Mrs Nasar. We retold his story and created our own DIABOLICAL inventions.

We have also been learning about the power of yet. We discussed goals we want to achieve and created pictures of us achieving them to help motivate us. We know that if we can’t achieve something yet, we should keep practicing and not give up!

Some of our pictures can be seen below!

Primary three have been settling into their new classroom well and are getting used to our new routines!

This week they have been creating their own dragons and learning how to make them fly.

We have also been talking about people in the past and have began looking at the Victorian era, learning all about schools, houses and Queen Victoria herself.

Here are some pictures we captured of some of our fantastic dragons!
