Victorian Games

As part of our Victorians topic, we explored various Victorian games and how they compare to those children play today. We engaged in a hands-on activity by rotating through different game stations, where we played specific games while discussing their rules and skills required. This experience allowed us to identify key aspects of each game, such as materials used and the number of players. We reflected on how these games highlight the similarities and differences in play across generations, enriching our understanding of Victorian childhoods.

Hockey

In P.E, we have started learning how to pass the ball in hockey. This week, our focus has been on mastering the basic passing techniques and stopping the ball. We took part in different drills to help us practice, and we worked in pairs to improve our accuracy and control. We also learned about the importance of communication with teammates while passing the ball. Overall, it has been a fun and engaging way to develop our hockey skills!

Story Maps

P3 has been learning about the life of a Victorian girl named Eleanor and what it was like for her to attend school. We are learning how to tell her story using story maps and storytelling voices. In the next few weeks, we will rewrite her diary in writing before making up our own imaginative stories of a Victorian child.

Science Centre Trip

As part of our school’s commitment to enhancing the learning and application of S.T.E.A.M. subjects, we took a trip to the Glasgow Science Centre. P3C had a wonderful time exploring and experimenting with the different exhibits across the three floors. We wrapped up our visit with an exciting journey through the Solar System at the fantastic Planetarium.
