P3C – Week 10!

P3C have had another great week!

Literacy

The pupils have been working hard at their comprehension and have began showing great understanding of their reading books by providing evidence from the text. The pupils have been continuing working on their inferences, making predictions by using the text and pictures.

Maths

In Maths with Miss Lamb, the class have been working on their estimating and measuring skills. We enjoyed using metre sticks to estimate and check the length and height of different classroom objects. We know that we record a metre with an ‘m’. The pupils were able to use their greater than and less than skills to compare different measurements. Next week,  we will explore centimetres.

Numeracy

In Numeracy, the pupils have been working on their rounding and estimating calculations. Pupils were challenged with  problem solving questions and some very high  numbers!

Woodlands

Pupils had great fun at Woodlands this week. Pupils were challenged to measure outdoors by making estimations. Pupils also made their very own worm hotel!

P.E

This week the pupils went into groups to create their own warm ups to demonstrate to the class. The pupils then worked on their possession skills.

Art

This week the pupils created their own beautiful bonfire night pictures using chalks, pastel and paints.

French

Pupils have been revising all the different colours in French and have been learning to say what their favourite and least favourite colour is.

Health and Wellbeing

The pupils have been discussing what ‘courage’ means to them and times they have shown great courage. The pupils then made their own shields to display how they show courage.

Space Topic

This week the pupils were looking at constellations. Pupils were given spaghetti and marshmallows to design their own model of a constellation. Pupils then made their very own constellation projectors to take home. The pupils shined a torch through the projector which  displayed their zodiac sign!

I hope you all have a lovely weekend!
