P3C – Week 19!

P3C have had a great week!

Health and Wellbeing

P3C have been discussing how to overcome challenges in their learning. Pupils discussed how learning can be similar to a challenging mountain. Pupils created a poster on how they can improve on their learning and what challenges they would like to set themselves.

Literacy

Pupils have been continuing their work on cause and effect. Pupils have worked hard on their reading books and their comprehension, continuing to practise on extending their sentences.

Numeracy and Maths

Pupils have been working hard practising their times tables and working out some very tricky worded problems! Pupils have been continuing their practise on vertical calculations, paying close attention to their place value.

The children have been focussing on money in Maths with Miss Lamb. They have been using their addition skills to find the totals of different coins, and to solve word problems, as well as their subtractions skills to calculate how much change they would get at the shop. Here the boys had to use coins to get a total of £5 but with the challenge of not using £1 or £2 coins, and by not only using 50p coins.

This week pupils travelled to Mexico! Pupils learned all about the Mexican culture, famous places to visit, popular foods, animals that live in Mexico, the language spoken and created some beautiful art inspired by by Mexico!
