P2C Clan Castle Challenge

Primary 2C were faced with a castle building challenge this week. They learned about the history of castles in Scotland and then had to design and create castles that met the criteria they set. The teamwork and planning was fantastic to watch and all the children were able to discuss their castles in great detail. Take a look at the process with some completed castles at the end!

Happy New Year!

Welcome back to Primary 2C!

The children all returned to school on Monday with great tales about their time off. It was lovely to hear about families getting together and the children showing their appreciation for the time spent with others.

This week in Literacy we have jumped right back into developing our reading skills by building on our knowledge of sounds and common words. We are looking forward to looking at some Non-Fiction texts.

In Numeracy we have been exploring place value and learned a really fun game where we had to calculate the answer faster than our partner.

In P.E. we are going to learn about tennis and badminton. This week we have been focusing on reaction times and learning about the individual skills involved.

Today we decided that we would like to learn more about Scotland and where we live in the local area. We were really excited to learn that there are artifacts in our area that date back hundreds of years.
