Lesson spotlight ‘Artist for the Day’

After meeting an artist at Meta Moments, primary 2 A have been very interested in what life would be like as an artist themself.  On Wednesday we took on the roll and faced lots of challenges that artists face on a daily basis.

We were challenged to design a new school badge based on the school values.

After designing the badges, we created them using mosaic. They turned out amazing!

Well done primary 2A, you would all be amazing artists 🙂

Eid Mubarak to all who celebrate 🙂

March 21st Blog

Good afternoon readers,

We have been so busy in primary 2 this week. Here is everything we got up to…

We worked together to answer tricky missing number questions. We use collaboration, communication and curiosity to help us.

We were lucky enough to learn lots about Ramadan and some members of our class brought in different items that they have been using throughout the celebration.

We used our skills passports to record times we had used our Meta skills this week.

In construction there was a challenge to build a car park, well done to everyone who gave it a go!

We spent some time outside to develop our teamwork skills with Primary 2B, we took part in relay races and ended the afternoon on the activity trail.

Have a lovely weekend everyone, and enjoy the sunshine!

Blog – March 14th

Welcome back blog readers.

We had a great week in primary 2A!

H&WB

In health and wellbeing we learned about two new Meta skills, communication and collaboration, we used these sills to work in pairs and guided each other around the classroom… with our eyes shut!

Literacy

In literacy we got new reading books, learned a new sound and wrote lots of great sentences.

Maths

In maths we learned about data and made our very own pictograms. We collected data on the classes favourite movie characters, sport, hobby, Among Us character, fruit, and animal.

We also spent some time outside on a symmetry hunt. We used mirrors in the playground to see how many lines of symmetry we could find.

Religious Education

We learned all about Ramadan this week, it was so interesting. We were lucky enough to have some members of the class share their own traditions. We are looking  forward to learning more about this next week.

PE

In PE we continued working on fitness and used Miss Brodie’s smart watch to measure our heartrate before, during and after exercise. It was very interesting to see our heartrates change.

French

We revisited our days of the week in French and went on to learn the months of the year too.

Meta Moments

We had a very exciting day on Thursday as we welcomed lots of special visitors to the school to talk about their jobs and the Meta skills they use each day.

Primary 2 got to meet an artist, a doctor, and an aeroplane engineer.

Primary 2A were also lucky enough to meet Josh  McKay, a current Glasgow Warriors player, we got tot ask him lots of interesting question about his job.

We have had such a busy week.

Thank you for reading and enjoy this sun this weekend,

Primary 2A and Miss Brodie 🙂
