May 2nd Blog

Hello readers,

We learned all about our 5 senses this week and put each of them to the test! We had great fun using our senses to solve problems. Take a look at our activities…

We enjoyed experiencing new flavours, smells and textures.

Have a lovely long weekend everyone, hopefully the sun is shining!

IDL Blog Post 2

As we are nearly at the end of Learning Journey 3, I thought it would be nice to update everyone on what we have been doing. We launched our new journey with an investigation into our local area. We spotted nests in the trees and watched carefully to identify the birds using our learning from last year.  We saw lots of twigs on the ground – we think they were from nexts that got blown down in the Big Storm.

At the end of our previous Learning Journey when we were learning about Food Waste, we started to gather seeds that we could plant in the spring.

We have been investigating different categories of plants and creating natural history posters. We like learning about pollinating plants, carnivorous plants, Scottish plants & companion plants. We can tell the difference between Evergreen and Deciduous plants and know that bulbs and seeds have different food supplies.

Now were are ready to plant our own selection of seeds – hopefully we will have lots of healthy plants to bring home soon.

Good afternoon blog readers!

Lesson Focus

We learned all about magnets and created gams that use magnets. We shared our games with the other primary 2 classes. We had so much fun playing games made by the other classes and showing how to play our own games. Take a look…

This week we also practiced using line an colour to create bunny rabbit art work. We used patterns to create bright colour backgrounds, and line to add detail to the rabbits. They turned out great!

I would like to say a huge thank you to all of primary 2A for their hand work this term. I am looking forward to seeing you all after the holidays. Have a well deserved holiday, Happy Easter to those who celebrate 🙂 Enjoy the sunshine!

Lesson spotlight ‘Artist for the Day’

After meeting an artist at Meta Moments, primary 2 A have been very interested in what life would be like as an artist themself.  On Wednesday we took on the roll and faced lots of challenges that artists face on a daily basis.

We were challenged to design a new school badge based on the school values.

After designing the badges, we created them using mosaic. They turned out amazing!

Well done primary 2A, you would all be amazing artists 🙂

Eid Mubarak to all who celebrate 🙂

Good afternoon readers,

We have been so busy in primary 2 this week. Here is everything we got up to…

We worked together to answer tricky missing number questions. We use collaboration, communication and curiosity to help us.

We were lucky enough to learn lots about Ramadan and some members of our class brought in different items that they have been using throughout the celebration.

We used our skills passports to record times we had used our Meta skills this week.

In construction there was a challenge to build a car park, well done to everyone who gave it a go!

We spent some time outside to develop our teamwork skills with Primary 2B, we took part in relay races and ended the afternoon on the activity trail.

Have a lovely weekend everyone, and enjoy the sunshine!
