This week Primary 1C have decided on their first IDL topic. We will be learning about The Seaside and we have already chosen to learn about shells, sea creatures, why the water has waves and also why it is salty. We are also interested in treasure and using a metal detector to find some.
We have enjoyed making playdough, creating crowns, rings and handbags in our creative area and building in our construction area.

In Literacy and English we have been working hard matching words that rhyme. We have enjoyed identifying rhyming objects, matched the rhyming word to the correct rhyme house and played games to consolidate our learning.

In Numeracy and Mathes, we have continued learning to recognise numbers 1-20 and practised sequencing numbers and identifying the missing number. We have also looked at the number before and after and used the number fans in class for the first time.

In Health and Wellbeing we are developing our Growth Mindset. We spoke about not giving up when we are stuck and we used our jackets to help us learn about this. We worked with our partners and helped each other if we found it difficult to get our jacket on. Mrs Agnew and Miss Regan did make it extra challenging by turning our sleeves inside out 🙂

We also had great fun outdoors this week! Our kitchen was open again with lots of tasty mud pies and ice-cream on the menu. We also displayed some great problem solving and building outdoors this week too.

Thank you to the parents and carers who attended our ‘Meet the Teacher’ event on Wednesday evening. The SWAY presentation will be e-mailed to all parents and carers to ensure those who were unable to attend do not miss any information.
The children have worked extremely hard on their self-portraits and many parents/carers enjoyed looking at them. We wanted to share our beautiful art with all parents/carers 🙂
