Painting, sorting and lots of trees!

It has been another busy week in P1c with lots of learning taking place. The children have brought home their work to share with you, we hope you enjoy looking at this with them.

In Numeracy and Maths some of us are looking at bigger and smaller numbers. We each chose a number between 1-20 and wrote it on our whiteboard. Mrs Agnew then chose one of the numbers and we had to decide if our number was bigger or smaller than it.

We have started learning about Data Handling and this week had a go at sorting 3D objects and some fish in different ways. We could sort the 3D objects by size, colour and shape and the we noticed some of the fish had a fin and others didn’t and sorted them into the hoops this way. We are learning why we sort Data and next week will explore other ways we can display it.

This week in Expressive Arts, we used our colouring mixing skills to create a seascape. This allowed us to blend blue, yellow and the green we mixed together. We drew and cut out our own fish to create a beautiful picture.

We love the woodland and had a lovely, if not a little muddy, time exploring on Friday. We enjoyed climbing in the trees and were keen to try and balance on the branches. Some of us enjoyed looking for worms and playing in the mud!

We continue to develop our construction skills which really emphasises our imagination, just look at our creations!
