Christmas Party

On Wednesday we had a lovely afternoon at our Christmas party.

We enjoyed party games, a snack and a drink and a special visit from Santa himself!

We sang Jingle Bells and then all of a sudden we could hear sleigh bells!

We listened to Santa tell us how busy he has been recently and then sang him a song from our Nativity and another couple of Christmas songs.

We were delighted when we found out Santa had brought us all a gift and enjoyed showing each other which book we had received.

After the excitement of Santa it was back up the hall for some party games (sorry about the light in the photo).

Wishing you all a lovely festive break!

Christmas Countdown

The excitement has been building and the countdown has been on for Christmas!

We hope you all enjoyed our Nativity last week. All of the children  worked incredibly hard for this and were all very excited to perform for their families. It was a pleasure to see so many smiling faces at the end 🙂

Over the past week we have been completing some Christmas art along with Christmas themed targets.

We used our 2D shape knowledge to colour the Christmas tree the correct colour.

We created a ‘snow storm’ by mixing blue and white paint and dabbing onto the paper with a circle sponge.

We then glued ‘ourselves’ onto the storm and decorated our work with some sparkles.

After printing our hand print on to the front of the card, we decorate our fingers to make them snowmen. We then wrote a message on the front and inside of the card.

We listened to the music from the Snowman and had to imagine then draw what we thought was happening. There were many amazing ideas including flying to the moon, riding on a horse and a spider climbing a mountain! We then watched the short film to find out what was really happening!

Christmas Activities

Last week Primary 1A were so busy preparing for our Nativity that Mrs Agnew forgot to post on our blog.

However in between practices we did have time to complete our Christmas craft for the school fair. We decorated cones with tissue paper and then adding sequins before to make them sparkle. We finished them off by cutting out stars and sticking them on the top. Thank you to those who came along to the stall and bought our beautiful trees!

We also coloured in a Nativity scene and then wrote an invitation to our grown ups, inviting them to our Nativity. We discussed what we need to include in an invitation and formed our invite together.

We have also been enjoying our Christmas Corner. We absolutely love decorating and redecorating the felt Christmas tree and having a go at writing our own Christmas cards. We are learning key words such as ‘to’ and ‘from’ and how to lay out a card.
