April 2020

I found these photos that should have been included last month!

A wee reminder of the nice things we do when we are in school.

Take care all until we can be together again.

March 2020

Before the schools closed we continued to enjoy learning, activities and experiences in the Learning Centre.

We enjoyed a little birthday celebration too!

St Valentine’s!

We have been continuing to get to know one another well in the Learning Centre and on our journey of self discovery.

We also enjoyed making special cupcakes for our loved ones on Valentine’s Day!

January

During the looong month of January we have been learning about winter weather and ourselves. We have been busy in the Learning Centre practising our skills during play activities.

November 2019

This month we have been looking at signs of autumn and have liked being outside collecting leaves and using them back in the Learning Centre.

The children have enjoyed jigsaws recently.

Most recently we have welcomed some new primary 1 children into the Star Room and the primary 2 children have been showing them their skills.

Happy Halloween!

It’s been a quick month in the Learning Centre. As well as finishing our Pets topic this month, we have enjoyed baking orange shortbread as pumpkins and decorating them. We’ve enjoyed other halloween activities too like crafts and dooking for apples!

September 2019

The children are settled back into the Star Room after the summer and have been busy working on their targets as usual.

We went to the Coop armed with our shopping lists to buy snack supplies for the new term.

We completed our Under the Sea topic and have begun our Pets topic.

James worked hard to be brave when Poppy the rabbit came to visit.

We have also been keeping an eye on our sunflowers growing taller and making sure they have enough support.

Wishing you all a fun holiday weekend!

Sunflowers and Under the Sea

We have enjoyed lots of activities this term to do with our Under the Sea topic.

We made some ocean jelly with peach fish!

We always enjoy making a treat for our parents visit!

We planted some sunflower seeds, watched them grow in the classroom then planted them outside. They keep growing and we are looking forward to seeing them flower when we are in p2!

Nurture Week

To mark UK Nurture Week, children who have previously been involved in the Star Room were invited into the Learning Centre at lunchtime to visit. It was super to welcome all these happy faces!
