This week at Forest School we made our own fire and roasted marshmallow!
We have been working on our talking and listening skills. We played board games all about money today! The boys and girls loved it!
We took shelter from the rain.
We explained how we felt and what we heard during our nature bath.
We played Eagle Eyes.
We discussed how the forest has change since we were last here. We identified trees and flowers.
We recapped what we already have learned about fire and learned about the different types of ways to build a fire.
Then we had a go at building them!
Reece demonstrated he was resilient and managed to climb the tree for the first time today. Well done!
To celebrate Palm Sunday we used drama to recreate Jesus arriving as king in Jerusalem.
Well done to Reece for adopting a snow leopard. What a lovely thing to do! Congratulations!

Primary 3 have learned so much at forest school, this week we were learning about tools. They boys and girls cut wood using a saw, safely. Even in the rain we still had fun under Mrs Carwood’s tent. Everyone is safely taking risks and trying to challenge themselves to climb high in the trees, swing high on the tree swing and working together to discover creatures and plants. We also had a scavenger hunt to find signs of Spring.
We worked with P3b in the playground on a scavenger hunt too, solving maths problem. All pupils were very successful and earned lots of house points.
We have been learning about our heart and how it pumps blood around our body. We tried to listen to our hearts, tried to beat our hearts by moving 5l of water from one tub to another using just a third of a cup in a minute – just like our hearts. Unfortunately none beat our heart!
We have been learning about the human body in Science. Today we learned about the major organs in the digestive system. We carried out an experiment to discover how the digestive system works 🔬
The boys and girls have been working very hard at home to practise their 3 and 4 times tables. Today they challenged themselves with a game of maths power towers.
Thank you to P6 digital leaders for reading amazing STEAM books which sparked lots of curiosity in primary 3!
