Marvellous Maths

They girls showed off their counting skills today playing some new games, roll and count and parking the dominos.

The girls were ordering numbers today during zone time.

Layla worked very hard to order the numbers 0-10. Her number formation is fabulous!

Fletcher created a very detailed model of a mansion with Lego.

Primary 1a have been sharing lots of interesting ideas about what they would like the new role play area to be.

All the boys and girls voted for a vet!

Everyone has been enjoying it today, Fletcher x-rayed a cats foot, while Reuben typed up all the cats details and done some research.

Outdoor learning

The Tigers have been talking about shape this morning! We identified circles, squares and triangles as shapes that we knew. We worked in teams to build different shapes with sticks! To make triangles we knew we’d need 3 sticks, to make a square we decided we’d need 4 sticks that were a similar size and for a rectangle we needed 2 long sticks and 2 short sticks. We also had a go at making a circle which was quite tricky because circles don’t have straight sides!

We then had a play with the sticks and some chalk! Kieva, Charlie and Rhys made a space scene, with a moon and a rocket!

Alfie, Ryan and Corey made televisions! They made rectangles with the sticks and drew some scary TV characters inside for Halloween!

Layla and Kameron made a panda! They noticed that their panda had a circle for a tummy!

Well done Tigers!

Outdoor learning

Yesterday afternoon the Giraffes were out enjoying a lovely autumn day! We had a chat about what we knew about autumn. We spotted lots of beautifully coloured leaves lying on the ground and so we went on a nature walk, collecting lots of them to make an autumn collage!

The Tigers asked to go out to the mud kitchen today! They were able to follow the mud paint recipe from the board and made their own paint!

Some of the children have been enjoying exploring the water. They have been pouring water through the guttering and catching it at the bottom. They had lots of chat around full and empty while they were pouring. They took turns doing each job and they worked so well together!

Outdoor learning

We had a lovely return to school after the October week with lots of lovely creative tasks outside! The Panthers have been talking lots about Autumn and the changes that we can see in the world around us. We went on a nature walk around the school, collecting lots of beautifully coloured fallen leaves. We found leaves that were green, yellow, orange, red and brown.

We used the things that we found to create wonderful autumn pictures!

The Tigers made mud paint today! We measured out 3 tablespoons of mud and added a tablespoon of powdered paint to it. We mixed it together with some water and made some very interestingly coloured muddy paint! We painted some very scary Halloween pictures with it!

Check in again tomorrow to see our pictures when they’re dry!
