We went on a number hunt today!

We went on a number hunt today!

The purple triangles worked on their fine motor skills today as they threaded the name of the 3D shape to the correct shape. Excellent work boys and girls!

The boys and girls in the green squares are learning to add within 10.
They found how many pieces of fruit all together and are learning to recognise the addition sign and equals sign. They had a go at writing the calculation too!
Amazing
The girls chose to make a castle from the 3D shapes this morning, what a masterpiece!

Primary 1 have been learning about using non-standard units of measure to measure classroom objects.
Today the Blue Rectangles measured objects in the classroom using paper clip chains. They used their amazing fine motor skills to create the paper clip chains.
The Purple Triangles and Green Squares were working together today, they measure each other using elephant chains.

This morning the boys and girls in Primary 1 have been blending! The girls were fantastic at making the words and sounding them out.

We have been learning about measuring length. This morning we drew round each other then measured ourselves using non standard units of measure.
We sorted ourselves into shortest to tallest then we measured the shortest person in our class with a book and the tallest person in our class with a book. We realised the book had to be the same size to be fair. And that is why we need a standard unit of measure. So we discussed  cm and m and are looking forward to measuring things in cm and m.Â

We have been learning about symmetry.
We made symmetrical butterflies.

The girls were using the writing materials to become scientists! Lacy used the bits and bobs to create a potion 🧪 excellent imagination  girls!

We are continuing to practice our number formation. Looking good boys and girls!Â
