We enjoy our trips a lot, but we work hard in class too! Here’s some of what we’ve been doing.
Athletics Competition at Grangemouth
Pollok Park
As one of our outings we went to have a walk around the grounds of Pollok Country House. Class Harris were really impressed that this had all been one person’s house and garden once, and were pretty horrified to learn about how the slave trade had helped build it. They really enjoyed a chance to explore the grounds, and made two new friends in the shape of Arthur and Harry…
Knights and Castles
Class Harris investigated Knights and Castles this year! We visited 4 really different castles; the remains of a Motte and Bailey on the Orry in Eaglesham, Mearns Castle, Crookston Castle and, last of all,Stirling Castle. As we looked at all these old sights we used out imaginations to see what they would have been like hundreds of years ago, and built our vocabulary up too.
Superheroes and Superfoods!
Class Harris have started a new topic on Superheroes! Amongst other things we’ve been trying lots of Superfoods: making smoothies and trying things we maybe wouldn’t always be keen on! Here’s a few pics, including the Kale Smoothy of Doom…
