‘N’ is for November and trying NEW things!

Primary 1/1 have been so interested in learning all about Space! We have learned about the planets, the sun, the moon, the stars and rockets. The class have loved exploring these through art, literacy, maths, P.E. and drama.⭐️🚀

Primary 1/1 learned how to use the Green Screen. We used the background of a moon to act out being astronauts who have landed on the moon. The class filmed these independently using the iPad and tripod. See our fantastic videos and pictures below!👩🏼‍🚀👨🏼‍🚀🚀🌕🎥🎬🎭

We followed instructions to make our own playdoh to make the moon.🌙

Some of our Space display!🚀

The class enjoyed making puffy paint to create the rocky texture of the moon. We learned about where the sun gets its light from, the phases of the moon and gravity.🌑🌒🌓🌔🌕🌖🌗🌘🌑

In P.E. we were astronauts on the moon doing star jumps! 🌟

We were throwing and chasing shooting stars.💫

We hopped across the different planets.🪐

We practised our moon landings with a jump.🌕

In IT we have practised logging into our Glow accounts to access links on Google Classroom.🖥

In Maths, we have explored some number bonds to 5 using Numicon and counters.🧮🔢

We learned all about the festival of Diwali and made our own patterns using shapes.🌈🕯

In Literacy, we have been practising our sounds and tricky words a lot. We have worked on our letter formation, making tricky words in different ways and playing our Race to Space sounds game in the tuff tray.📝🔡

For Children in Need, the house captains worked hard to organise activities in the hall. The class loved beat the goalie and the parachute. Well done Primary 7!🐻⚽️

Primary 7 had written stories about teddy bears and kindly came to our class to read their fantastic work. The class were excellent listeners and enjoyed having Primary 7 in our class.📖🐻

Primary 1 were also very lucky when our buddies came to our class to read their Halloween stories. Once they had read these, we got to pick another story from our library to listen to. Thank you Primary 5!📖🎃

Keep up the super work Primary 1✨
