September 2022

Hello from Primary 3/2!

We have been enjoying lots of lovely stories this month.

‘The Dot’ by Peter H Reynolds helped us to think about how we can encourage others and how kind words can help us to feel proud of our achievements.

We created our own wonderful DOT artwork and explored symmetry using lots and lots of dots!

We also read ‘The Bog Baby’ by Jeanne Willis.  We loved this story so much that we decided to go on a Bog Baby hunt around our school grounds.  We think we saw one!

PE with Greg and Chris was lots of fun!  We participated in activities to help us improve our jumping, throwing and running skills.

Symmetry and Shape in Gymnastics!

We looked at photographs of gymnasts.  The photos were a great place to find lines of symmetry and 2D shapes.  We tried to make our own 2D shapes using our bodies … triangle and rectangle demonstrated here!

We also created some posters which will be displayed in the classroom.

AUGUST in Primary 3/2

Hello from P3/2!

We have been very busy getting used to our new classroom and getting to know where everything is.  We have been doing lots of revising and also lots of new learning.  I think we are going to have a great year!

2D and 3D SHAPES

We have been revising the names and properties of 2D and 3D shapes.

SCOTTISH ARTISTS

We have been learning about the life and work of Jolomo.

Our sketches and paintings are AMAZING!

TEAM WORK

We always love creating fabulous structures using the Kapla and Lego!

Science – Senses

In Science we have been learning about our senses. When learning about taste, we had fun tasting different foods, whilst blindfold and trying to guess what they were.  We then sorted them into different categories eg. Salty, sweet, sour and bitter.

“Sunny” Muddy Movers

With the lovely weather recently, our class have enjoyed Muddy Movers in the sunshine. We have seen some excellent teamwork and communication skills as we used our imagination to create a building site, moved materials safely around our site and then created  a den.

World Book Day

P2.2 had fun dressing up as their favourite characters for World Book Day 2022.  We brought in our favourite books and shared them with the class and then had fun with our Where’s Wally Scavenger Hunt.

Primary 6 pupils came into our class to read to us and together we designed the front cover of our book.
