World Book Day

P2.2 had fun dressing up as their favourite characters for World Book Day 2022.  We brought in our favourite books and shared them with the class and then had fun with our Where’s Wally Scavenger Hunt.

Primary 6 pupils came into our class to read to us and together we designed the front cover of our book.

Numeracy

In numeracy we have been exploring weight , using scales to compare the weight of different objects and identifying the heaviest and lightest.  We have weighed items in grams and kilograms too.

Numicon is a popular resource in our class and we have used it to represent numbers 1-20 and also to solve a puzzle.

Muddy Movers

In Muddy Movers we have been working together to explore our mud kitchen and using our imagination to create a mixture for pancake day,  We have also developed our balancing skills.

Gymnastic

In PE was have been developing our gymnastic skills and have been keen to use the apparatus.   We can balance on the bench, perform forward rolls and jumps.

Burns Day

We have been learning about Robert Burns and had great fun at PE when we tried some Scottish dancing!  We have also been making our own tartan designs and enjoyed decorating shortbread to celebrate Robert Burns.  Look at our photos of Strip the Willow and the Canadian Barn dance.

Local Area Walk

We have enjoyed learning about our local area and had “the best day ever” when we went on our class walk around Barrhead.  We were able to identify different types of houses , shops and local businesses.

Pumpkin Soup

As part of our technologies lesson, we made pumpkin soup!  We prepared the vegetables by washing, peeling and then cutting them and added all our ingredients into our soup maker.  We then had our soup outside during Muddy Movers.  It was delicious!

STEM Challenge

We had great fun with our STEM challenge with Miss Joiner!  We worked together to design and create bridges, using different materials.  Look at our fabulous creations!
