Burns Day

We have been learning about Robert Burns and had great fun at PE when we tried some Scottish dancing!  We have also been making our own tartan designs and enjoyed decorating shortbread to celebrate Robert Burns.  Look at our photos of Strip the Willow and the Canadian Barn dance.

Local Area Walk

We have enjoyed learning about our local area and had “the best day ever” when we went on our class walk around Barrhead.  We were able to identify different types of houses , shops and local businesses.

Pumpkin Soup

As part of our technologies lesson, we made pumpkin soup!  We prepared the vegetables by washing, peeling and then cutting them and added all our ingredients into our soup maker.  We then had our soup outside during Muddy Movers.  It was delicious!

STEM Challenge

We had great fun with our STEM challenge with Miss Joiner!  We worked together to design and create bridges, using different materials.  Look at our fabulous creations!

Happy Halloween 🎃

We have had a great time today!

We enjoyed our spooky ghost calculations and designing our pumpkins this morning and this afternoon we were ready to party!  Look at all our fabulous costumes!

We had fun dooking for apples, playing games and making ghosts.

Maths Week

This week is Maths week and we have been focusing on both 2D and 3D shapes.   We have been creating patterns with shapes and have designed  our very own shape monsters and shape families.  We have had great fun! Have a look at our creations!

Welcome to Primary 2!

It has been lovely to welcome everyone into our P2 class and all pupils have settled in well after the summer holidays.

PE is on a Tuesday and Muddy Movers is on a Friday so please  ensure pupils have their PE kit and wellies with them at school on these days.

Homework will be issued on a Monday and due on Friday.  Reading should be completed every night.

Miss Joiner will be with our class on a Tuesday.

We have been working very hard and have been learning the sh and ch sound in literacy and pupils have been fantastic at identifying words with these sounds.  We have also been working on our number stories and have enjoyed measuring different objects and identifying 2D shapes in numeracy.

In French, we have been learning our colours and can express our feelings.

We have enjoyed working as a team in Muddy Movers to build a bridge with tyres and logs and have demonstrated  our balancing skills.

We have celebrated our pupils’ achievements at home for example Caleb camped out overnight to raise money for charity, Keeva was Star of the week at cheerleading and Grace completed the Summer Reading Challenge so  please continue to share these with us.
