The triangles group have been working really hard this term in Maths. We have been exploring money and can identify and use all coins and notes to £10. We have also investigated different ways of making the same total and created a class shop and practised mentally calculating the correct change.

We have been learning about Food Chains in Science.
We investigated the terms herbivore, carnivore and omnivore. We had to draw and label an animal and then correctly sort the animal using a whole class Venn Diagram. We then had to answer questions about our Venn Diagram.

NATIVITY 2021
We have been working hard to learn the songs and words for our Nativity Play which is called ‘Straw and Order’. We hope you enjoy it! Here are some photos of us rehearsing on the stage and showing off our costumes!

JUDO
We enjoyed meeting Tommy and Melissa at The Foundry where they introduced us to Judo. We did some fun warm ups and then learned some Judo moves. It was quite difficult but great fun! Thank you to the mums who came along and helped us on our walk and for making sure we were safe on the very icy paths!

We had a brilliant day today!
We took part in the Joe Wicks Pudsey workout and the P7 active stations in the gym hall. Then we spent our pocket money at the toy and book sale. We finished the day with a wonderful talent show! Thank you to everyone for sending in donations towards this great charity. Well done, Primary 3!

Primary 3/1 we have been learning about the Parables of Jesus as part of our RME topic.
We listened to and discussed the story of the two builders – the wise man and the foolish man. We talked about the message of the story and how we should always work hard in everything that we do.
We used different building materials and tried to build a house on cushions to be like the foolish man who took the easy way out. We then built a house on solid foundations – it was more difficult to knock down. We decided we would rather be like the wise man! We also designed our own dream homes.

BOOK WEEK SCOTLAND 2021
We loved looking through our new book bags and we used the character and setting cards to help us create our own stories for other children to enjoy. We really were wonderful authors today!

We have been very busy in P3!
HEALTHY EATING
We had a tasty time when we made fruit kebabs. We had to think very carefully about hand hygiene and the importance of making good choices when eating snacks. They tasted lovely!

REMEMBER, REMEMBER THE 5th of NOVEMBER!
We learned about the importance of bonfire and firework safety and had some great discussions about what to do in an emergency. We then created wonderful firework pictures.

MEASURING IN MATHS
We have been learning about grams and kilograms and had lots of fun comparing the weight of objects.

We had a great time today!
Designing pumpkins, partying in the gym hall and eating some tasty snacks.
Your costumes were brilliant everyone!

Have a great time if you go out guising on Sunday!
We’ve had a brilliant week thinking about how important maths is. We use maths all the time! We decided to take our learning outdoors and used our environment for symmetry and data handling challenges. We had lots of fun and we talked all the time about what we were doing and what we discovered!

We worked on symmetry back in the classroom too 🙂

Venn Diagrams and Carroll Diagrams – great understanding and excellent teamwork!

Fractions – Can you cut a wrap into 2 equal parts to make halves? Can you make quarters? How many parts will you have? So many questions during our fractions activity. The wraps tasted great with jam and honey. A lovely, wee treat after working so hard!

Length – Our challenge was to create an item which measured exactly 50cm. This was great fun and quite challenging! Three groups managed to make their items measure exactly 50cm 🙂

What a great week!
