WHAT IS MEDIC INSIGHT?

Medic Insight is a voluntary and student‐led organisation founded in 2007 by students at the University of Edinburgh.  Having now expanded to the

University of Glasgow, our aim is to provide free and accessible work experience for school students in the West of Scotland who are hoping to pursue a

career in medicine.

OUR PROGRAMMES

DAY:

For current S4 pupils.

The day will include talks by guest physicians, surgeons and medical students, followed by a number of interactive workshop and debates.

This will be held at Edinburgh University.

IMPORTANT DATES EDINBURGH DAY:

Saturday 20th February 2016, 09:30–16:00

APPLICATIONS OPEN MONDAY 11th  JANUARY 2016, 09:00

Places will be filled on a first come, first serve basis.

GLASGOW WEEK:

Monday 20th June to Friday 24th June 2016 (provisional)

APPLICATIONS OPEN MONDAY 15th FEBRUARY UNTIL SUNDAY 21st FEBRUARY 2016

WEEK:

For current S5 pupils.

The week long programme aims to provide insight into the life of a medical student and

clinician. It will feature student led workshops and clinical shadowing opportunities.

Students may be placed at a number of hospitals or general practices across the West of

Scotland.
