EARLY YEARS CAREERS EVENT – GLASGOW – 31 JANUARY 2019

A Career in Early Years is waiting for You!

Working towards a more diverse workforce

Up to 11,000 new early years recruits needed in Scotland!

Early Years Scotland (EYS) is committed to providing the very best start in life for every child in Scotland. We are the leading national third sector organisation for children from birth to 5 years of age.

Early Years Scotland delivered two very successful career events in 2018; New Year New Career and What Next? which aimed to encourage people to consider an exciting new career in early years! These were delivered in partnership with Skills Development Scotland and Media Scotland. Both events provided individuals with dedicated and focussed guidance on how to embark on a rewarding career in early years at this time of unprecedented growth. To support the Early Learning and Childcare expansion, up to 11,000 new recruits are required by 2020, so now is the time to take that first step into a career in early years.

In support of the Scottish Government’s national recruitment campaign, Early Years Scotland is delighted to deliver A Career in Early Years is waiting for you! – an informative partnership event involving Skills Development Scotland (SDS), Scottish Government, Glasgow City Council, Scottish Funding Council and Media Scotland.

The event on 31 January 2019 in The Studio, Hope Street, Glasgow, will aim to diversify the workforce so that it is more representative of society. We hope this event will attract a wide range of individuals from under-represented groups, including males, members of the Black Minority Ethnic (BME) community, career changers, those with care experience, and individuals with disabilities.

This morning event will give you the opportunity to hear valuable input from a diverse range of individuals who will support your next steps. You will have the opportunity to ask the panel questions as well as having the opportunity to have face to face individual discussions with an extensive range of specialists from the early years sector.

The event will be chaired by Clare English, former BBC Broadcaster.  Everyone is warmly invited to this exciting event which recognises how much this rewarding career has changed and developed over the years.
