Job Title: Engineering Modern Apprenticeship

Engineering Training Provider (EKGTA works in partnership with a

large number of employers who recruit apprentices within engineering disciplines. EKGTA helps in the first stage of recruitment for these companies, by conducting aptitude testing and interviews and presenting suitable applicants to the companies for final selection).

 

Job Description

 

Companies who are mainly involved in the manufacturing sector will employ the successful candidates.

 

The potential apprenticeship could be in several discipline areas, these include: Mechanical, Electrical and Fabrication Engineering as required by trades such  as Toolmaker, Turner, Fitter, Maintenance Fitter, Welder/ Fabricator, Maintenance Electrician etc.

 

Entry Requirements

 

It is preferred that candidates have or expect to gain Standard Grades in English, Maths, Physics and Craft/Technical subjects at bands 1-3 or National Grades in Maths, English, Physics and Craft /Technical at bands

4 or 5.  It is also preferred that they will be literate, numerate with some computing and keyboard skills. Candidates also must have good personal presentation and communications skills.

 

Training

 

Candidates will work towards SVQ’s at levels 2 & 3.They will also be required to obtain a suitable academic qualification in an engineering discipline to at least National Certificate (NC) level. Candidates will receive comprehensive training at both EKGTA and the employer’s premises.

 

Hours of work: 37 hours per week

 

Salary / Age required: 16 + £170 per week on average
