We are a family run Insurance Broker in the south side (Burnside) of Glasgow and are currently looking to recruit an office junior.
The role is ideally suited to a school leaver and someone who is willing to learn, ‘earn their stripes’ and has the enthusiasm and potential to progress within the company to Insurance Advisor level in time to come.
We have been very successful in the past with our office juniors and several of our staff (including me!) started off as the junior and have subsequently been with the company for many years. Recently however, it has been proving difficult to find the right candidate – no interest in working and too much interest in their mobile phones!
The role would entail ;
Filing
Making teas and coffee/ lunch run
Keeping the kitchen area tidy and stocked
Shredding of secure data/paperwork
Franking of mail
Dealing with recorded delivery mail
Ensuring stock (paper, envelopes, policy booklets, etc are all kept in supply)
Organising and storing of legal client documents
Updating system with claims information
Basic administration with our accounts system
The role is fairly basic to begin with but training is provided and it would be our hope that we could progress on to insurance advisor training within 6 months / first year. We would like someone to have basic admin skills (some have been unable to even grasp filing alphabetically) be well mannered and have good spoken and written English, as the role would involve speaking on the phone to insurance departments and writing emails/memos/ client letters – but most important to us is someone with the correct attitude and who is willing to learn.
