Today we continued learning about Spain and designed and created our own Spanish tiles inspired by the city of Valencia.

Today we took part in our first activity linked to our selected country – Spain for international week. We loved learning some basic salsa moves and we are ready to perform them at the assembly on Friday!

Today was our first Mandarin lesson from Miss Lui. We had a great time learning Mandarin in a variety of ways through hide and seek games, songs and rhymes.

We thoroughly enjoyed having Mr Sinclair come and visit us today and speaking to us about evacuations of children during WW2. We had lots of questions to ask at the end!

We have been learning how to answer inferential questions during literacy.  Today we were tasked with acting out scenes with a partner and the rest of the class were to use their inference skills to work out what emotion they were showing. The actors were not allowed to talk!

We have been learning how to calculate the perimeter of rectangles and squares. Today the Fibonacci group enjoyed an active maths game competing against one another to calculate perimeters.

We have been learning about states of change of materials such as liquids, gases and solids during science this term. Yesterday we made our own “gloop” and observed how the molecules moved together to create a solid when squashed together, however, they didn’t stay compacted and immediately turned back into  liquid when your released your hand. This lesson was one of our favorites this year!

We loved participating in the House MUGA event this afternoon. The house captains and the sports leaders did a wonderful job organising the whole day! Great preparation for LochGoilhead next week!

Well done to Liam who won 2 medals at his kick boxing competition at the weekend. He proudly showed them to this class today!

This morning we were using all of our skills within the STEM subjects to build our elastic band boats ready to set sail on Monday.

We worked collaboratively with a partner measure, cut, design, approximate and build these boats with propellers.

We demonstrated problem solving skills to make the glue dry faster but trying to dry it in front of a heater, however, we quickly realised that that had the opposite effect…made the glue stay wet!!! So we quickly changed strategy and held them over the window where the air was cold instead!
