Williamwood DNA workshop

Today we were visited by the teaching staff from the Science Department at Williamwood. They taught us about DNA and set us a task to solve who was the rogue superhero. We loved wearing the googles, the gloves and using all the equipment to solve the mystery!!!

Journey Planning to Williamwood

This morning we were so lucky to have a team from East Renfrewshire Road Department come out to discuss all the travel options available to us to safely get to Williamwood High School in August. We looked at a range of bus and train timetables and then we analysed maps and drew out a route from our houses to the school.

Collaborative Learning

For our homework task last week, we were tasked with creating our own math game. The range and caliber of games were so amazing which everyone produced that we thought it would be good to share these resources with other pupils in Busby. Primary 3b were the lucky ones who got to test out the games and they gave a huge thumbs up for all the games!

Building our Grand Prix cars

This morning we worked with a partner to design and build our balloon powered cars to take part in the Busby Grand Prix on Wednesday. There were lots of different ideas such as using Lego, bottles and cardboard to use as the body for the car.

Lord Provost Debate

The first half of the p7’s participated in the Lord Provost Debate at the East Renfrewshire council offices. The motion being argued was “Animal testing should be banned”. Both teams made excellent point for each side and the opposers narrowly won by 13 votes to 11. Well done to everyone involved!

Amazing Experiments

This morning we were so lucky to experience all the experiments set up by Mr Hunter. We experienced dry ice, making smoke bubbles, blowing up giant balloons with helium, change in materials…..the list is endless. Have a look at the pictures and see what all went on!

Williamwood Design Challenge

Today was our last lessons taught by Williamwood Design Department. We created designs for a keying and finished our glass designs. 4 lucky pupils will be chosen to go to Williamwood and use the 3d printer to make their key rings become a reality at the end of March.
