We have been learning about questioning and today we were using questioning techniques to create our own questions on an extract from the book “Moonfleet”. We used Blooms Taxonomy Question Mats to help us write our questions. These questions helped us to deepen our understanding of the text.
We are participating in the Virgin Money “Make £5 Grow” campaign. The first thing we did was to choose who would want to work with to start a business and then we had to come up with a business product. We would only get £5 each to spend so we had to think about making things that didn’t cost a lot of money to make! We are going to be selling our products in December so many of us thought of winter related ideas.
On Friday we pitched our business idea to two “dragons” from Virgin Money to see if they would invest and give us the £5. They were very impressed with all the pitches and thankfully they invested in everyone’s groups!
We are very excited to make and sell our products in December!
Last week was National Maths week. The aim is for everyone to experience the benefits, joy and beauty of maths in exciting new ways and Primary 7 had a fun filled week of maths.
We started off the week creating challenging math problem solving questions for the P7s at Netherlee Primary School. We worked in small groups and each group created 3 questions. Here is an example of some of our questions that we sent…
Next we took part in a Maths Murder Mystery. Mr Maxwell had been “murdered” and we had to use our problem solving, team work and math skills to find the culprit! We had a great time solving all the questions and we found the culprit to be Miss Stevenson!
On Thursday we received the math questions which Netherlee had created for us. We worked together to solve the questions, (some were very tricky!!) and we correctly answered them all in half an hour! Great team work P7!
We finished off Maths week by taking part in a maths relay which all the p7s from both classes took part in. We worked in groups of 3 and we had 15 minutes to answer as many questions as possible but we couldn’t move onto the next question until we had found the correct answer to the previous one. Well done to the following teams who finished in the top 3:
1st – Gordon, Aaron and Leo
2nd – Max, Campbell and Ciaran
3rd – Tess, Ben and Serene
