We have been learning about the river Nile and why it was so important to the Ancient Egyptians.
We have looked at the three seasons, Akhet, Peret and Shemu. We also looked at the technology used in Ancient Egyptian times. The Ancient Egyptians invented the Shaduf to lift water from the Nile onto the land to water the crops.
We made our own model Shadufs.

We have been learning about the Dutch artist Piet Mondrian in class. He was an abstract painter and developed his style using black lines and primary colours.
In Science, we are learning about materials. We were finding out what everything is made of – atoms.
Jack C – I enjoyed learning about atoms, solids and liquids.
Alfie – I liked the solids and liquids activity because I learned a lot and really enjoyed it.
Olivia – We learned about atoms.
Emilio – Atoms are very small, we can’t even see them.
Fionn – We learned about atoms. Everything is made up of atoms.
George – I liked working in a group to put the cards under solids and liquids.
Max – I liked playing the atoms game outside because we had to make funny shapes.
We went outside to play a game all about atoms.
We looked at solids and liquids and sorted items under the two headings.
We then explored when something is both a solid and a liquid – Oobleck.
You can make this simply using 2 parts cornflour to 1 part water.
Recently in class we have been exploring data handling. We collected data from different classes in the school, recording the results in a table using tally marks. We then created a bar graph to display our results. In ICT, we were learning how to input our data on excel to create a graph using digital technology.
In music, we have been working hard to learn new rhythms.

Anise – I had fun making learning about Norway with Mr Rossavik.
Reece – It was really fun making the Northern Lights picture. Mr Rossavik explained all about Norway, it was fun!
Kayla – I had fun making the picture in art.
Imogen – We learned about Norway and did some art work.
Megan – When we were learning about Norway, we made pictures like the Northern Lights.
Our PE days have changed!
We now have a double indoor PE slot on Tuesdays.
Our outdoor PE slot is on Wednesdays.

Freya – It was fun because we were trying to solve problems.
Skye – It was very fun because I got two tens in a row.
Kaedyn – I liked working in a group to solve the problem.
Anise – I liked the morning starter where we had to break the code using addition.
Have a look at our recent art work. We noted the changes as the season changed from summer into autumn.
Saskia – We had a great time doing this work.
Imogen – We had to draw a tree on card first. Then we started painting the tree. We used cotton buds to add the coloured leaves.
Sophie – It was fun adding the leaves. We used brown, green, yellow, red and orange. These are the colours of the autumn leaves.
Emilio – We had fun making the tree pictures.
