P3 End of Term News

There is no homework this week! In other news…

End of Topic Project

Primary 3 had a brilliant afternoon on Friday. The children experienced the excitement of presenting/showcasing their learning of our Ancient Egypt topic to the rest of the class. The children put such a huge amount of work in and they were all absolutely fantastic! It was a great way to end our topic.

Christmas Party

We have our Christmas party on the afternoon of Tuesday the 18th of December. Can children please come to school dressed for the party on this day.

Library Books

Some children took home their library books from our library visit a few weeks ago. Can all books be returned to me by Thursday the 20th of December as I need to return these to Giffnock library before the Christmas break.

I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and enjoy the holiday!

P.S. Here are some pictures from Friday afternoon:

Primary 3 Homework and news! WB 26-11-18

Hi everyone,

Please see the link below for homework this week:

Homework 26-11-18

Thank you to all of you who managed to come along on Tuesday! The children came up with some fantastic evil characters and heroes!

I hope the children are enjoying their book bags and using them at home :). When reading with your child at home, please encourage them to think about the active reading tools and strategies which are on page 17 and 18 of their homework diaries!

The class have enjoyed doing lots of learning related to Book Week Scotland. They particularly enjoyed their visit from Caroline who talked about how we can use ‘visualising’ to create our own pictures in our minds of what the words might look like. She read some of ‘Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone’ to the class.

*Message from Primary 5*

Primary 5 are studying Enterprise in Social Studies and are learning about running a business. We have carried out market research to investigate the best product for sale to maximise profits.

Our research has revealed that sweets are the most popular product. As a result, we will be producing Sweetie Cones. All sweets are gelatine free and suitable for a vegetarian diet.

We have taken out a business loan from Mrs Friel and have to repay this in full. Profits made in this venture will be donated to charity.

Sweetie Cones will be available for sale from Monday 10th December for £1. We hope you will support our project.

Yours faithfully,

Mrs Ali and Primary 5

*This week is Book Week Scotland* – We are having a ‘read, write, count’ parent afternoon on Tuesday from 2:15-3:00pm. The children do not have a reading book this week but instead can choose a book from home to read a few pages of per night.

*Road Safety Week* – To celebrate Road Safety Week this week, can you please design a poster with ‘Bike Smart’ as the theme. ‘Bike Smart’ aims to raise awareness about the importance of being safe while cycling. These posters will be displayed throughout the school.

*As part of our focus during Anti-Bullying Week, the Rights Respecting Committee would like you to ‘Choose Respect’ and wear odd socks on Wednesday 14th November. The odd socks represent everyone being different, unique and special.*

Could I also ask that your child brings back their IDL folder that was taken home a couple of weeks ago if they haven’t done so already!
